Since 2012 I’ve spoken at several professional events & education programs, both in Spanish and English. Below you can see images, videos and a timeline of my speaking engagements.
Do you want me to speak?
I’m open to opportunities
My talks range 20-60m and are about product management, working in the tech sector, agility, artificial intelligence and innovation. I can join remote or in-person podcasts, conferences, hackathons, or classes at universities and business schools.
How I got into public speaking
In 2012 I presented at a conference for the first time in my life. Rupy was a developers conference in Brno, Czech Republic. I spoke about Rails Girls Berlin, our initiative to bring more women to technology, and that conference changed my life.
After my first talk in 2012, teams behind conferences, university and business schools programs and companies looking for trainers have reached out to invite me to add up to their speaker or trainer programs, and later on to podcasts, online events, and even TV! Online training is not pure speaking material, but believe me when I say I did a lot of speaking when I collaborated with LinkedIn Learning to produce online courses about women in software and IT in 2019, conversational interfaces in 2020, and agile management and user stories in 2021.

Conversational Interfaces for Marketing Professionals & Business Strategists
I have designed a Conversational Interfaces for Marketing Executives session for the InDigital program at Esade. Framed in a wider program, this four hour session described different use cases of conversational interfaces along the customer journey in different industries, presenting thought provoking examples and key figures and giving insights about the high-level development estimates and resources for the conversational projects. During 2019 I delivered it as part of the Esade InDigital program in Madrid and Barcelona.

Healthcare & Pharma
In 2017 and 2018 I attended an event organized by Ogilvy as a speaker, and presented a session called bots4health. The sessions were organized for health industry partners of the agency in New York and Copenhague, where they invited myself and other conversational experts to share our experiences, insights and thoughts.

Legality & ethics in chatbots
In 2019 I prepared a talk about applications of conversational interfaces in legal contexts and researched about the ethics of these new interfaces. I presented at Robotiuris, an event for lawyers organized by Garrigues and Microsoft, Deusto University, and at the National Conference of Lawyers on that year. As an outcome of this interest, I also coedited one of the first texts about legal issues in chatbots together with the lawyers at NOLegalTech.

AI beyond chatbots
In November 2016 I gave a talk about artificial intelligence and conversational interfaces in the Diape event organized in Murcia, where I explained what lies behind these technologies, and talked about the applications of AI we are already using in our daily life.

Tarugoconf
My talk Bots 101 was presented at the Tarugoconf conference in Spain celebrated in the Google Campus auditorium in September 2017. Tarugoconf is one of the most influential conferences for the technology community in Spain. My talk was an introduction to conversational interfaces and tips for conversational design and UX.

Humans vs Bots
Humans vs Bots is a talk about the challenges of NLP based chatbots and voice interfaces. I presented it at the ADDC conference in Barcelona in July 2018, the Bilbostack conference in Bilbao in January 2019, and remotely as a guest lecturer with Ariel Jalali’s class at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) later that year.

NLP + Dialogflow
Technical Fundaments of
Conversational Interfaces
NLP with Dialogflow is a more technical talk. It was designed for the developer community events and describes how Dialogflow processes user utterances to execute functions and respond to users in a conversational way. These processes are called Natural Language Processing (NLP) and rely on Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The talk also dives deeper into how NLP works. In this talk, I introduce techniques like word2vec or named entity recognition and highlight that the AIs powering NLP have biases that can be corrected by the humans that feed and label training data or by design.
In September 2019 I delivered this talk at the Morcillaconf conference organised by the Google Developers Group in Burgos. In November, I presented it again at WTM ZGZ conference organized by the Mullerestech and Google Women Tech Makers communities in Zaragoza in October 2019. This talk was recorded and you can watch the video here.
In December, I repeated at the Google Cloud event for developers held at Google Campus in Madrid.

Women in technology
Talks about women in technology for women who want to pursue a career in the industry and for industry leaders who can have an influence on the diversity of technology teams.
My first talk about Women in Technology, in 2012, was at Rupy, a Ruby and Python conference organised in Brno, Czech Republic. I have delivered versions of this talk in Rails Girls events in Prague, Berlin and Córdoba, in Google Women Tech Makers and Google Developers Groups events in Córdoba in 2013, and in Campus Party in Berlin and London in 2013 and 2014.
After 2014 I reduced my public speaking and focused on my work on eHealth Africa. I started speaking about women in technology again in 2017, with my talk Women in Tech Km 0.
In May 2019 I moderated a panel in the WomenNOW event organized by ABC and Banco Santander in the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid. Three women in technology and science talked about their lives as a minority in the industries and the advice they would give young women and girls considering a career in tech.

In the last year, I have also recorded an interview about women in technology for the program Enlaces in the Spanish speaking TV channel Deutsche Welle in Germany.
During the spring of 2019, I scripted and recorded two 1h-long courses about women in technology for LinkedIn Learning. We recorded the courses in the company’s professional studios in Austria and it was one of the experiences in which I learned the most during 2019. We continued collaborating until 2021, and we published a total of 5 courses together.
